Melissa is HSR Law’s Head of Commercial Property.
She has extensive experience advising businesses, investors, landlords, tenants and developers on a broad range of commercial property transactions, as well as previous experience in residential property matters.
Melissa began her legal career with Shulmans LLP in Leeds, where she spent two years before joining HSR Law in 2017. She graduated with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Law before completing the Legal Practice Course at Leeds Beckett University. Melissa completed her Training Contract with HSR Law and qualified as a Solicitor into the Commercial Property department in 2020.
Since qualifying, Melissa has built a strong reputation for providing practical, commercially focused advice tailored to each client’s objectives. As Head of Department, she oversees the Commercial Property team while continuing to advise on a wide variety of transactions, from straightforward commercial leases to complex acquisitions, disposals and refinancing matters.
Melissa works closely with business owners, developers, lenders and professional advisers to ensure transactions progress efficiently and with minimal disruption. She is committed to providing clear, pragmatic advice and building long-term relationships with clients, helping them navigate commercial property matters with confidence.
